GOLF.

OTAGO OLUB. The Otago Golf Club's annual foursome competition was played on Balmacewen Links. The weather was fine, but the ground was very heavy after the past week'e snow and rain, and consequently made " Bogey" more severe than when there was a run on the ball. The competition resulted in a tie between Monro and Wynne and Sawell and Sise with scores of three down. The best cards were:—Monro and Wynne (handicap 7), 3 down; Sawell and Sise (handicap 8), 3 down; Salmon and MacGregor (handicap 5), 5 down; Lambert and Ramsay (handicap 9), 5 down; Haggitt and White (handicap 8), 6 down. ST. GLAIR CLUB. A four-ball "bogey" match was played on the St. Clair Links, the following being tho best cards handed in: —Greenhough and Hocking, 8 up; Westbrook and Cerutty, 6 up; Wight and Dick, 6 up; Reed and Seelye, 6 up; W. D. M'Garthy and D. D. M'Carthy. 3 up; Amtman and Irvine, 3 up; Butcher and Oxford, 2 up; Drake _ and D. M. Irvine, 1 up; Hunter and Lethbridge, all square; Simo and Leonard, 1 down; Sincock and Forbes, 1 down. OTAGO LADIES' GOLF CLUB. The annual meeting of the above club was held on Monday afternoon. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the Captain (Mrs P. R. Sargood) spoke on the club's position financially and generally, and congratulated members on their efforts on behalf of the New Zealand Lady Golfers' Red Cross Fund. The sum of £44 153 was contributed by the club to this fund (the highest amount for any South Island olub). The ladies voted £SO to th© men's olub as their share for the recent painting done at tho clubhouse. The report was adopted. The following office-bearers were elected for the forthcoming yoar:—Captain, Mrs J. A. Cook; deputy oaptain, Miss Theomin; hon. secretary and treasurer, Miss G. Sargood; committee—Mesdames Batchelor, Aiken, and Miss Graham. The retiring captain (Mrs Sargood) thanked Miss Fynmore (th© retiring secretary and treasurer) for the work she had don© during her four years' term of office.
