OTAGO BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL.

SWIMMING TOURNAMENT. The annual swimming tournament of the Otago Boys' High School was held in the Municipal Baths on Monday afternoon before a full attendance of non-competitive boys of the school, with the addition of a number of parents and friends. A full programme of 25 events (heats and finals) was rapidly and smoothly put through, the whole tournament being completed shortly after 4 p.m. Members of the school staff acted as officiaJo in various capacities, and were assisted in minor duties by a willing and well organised group of senior boye. During. the progress of the tournament a master of the school (Captain H. W. Slater), who arrived back from the front ]ast week, cam© in, and his arrival was the signal for a vigorous rendering of the school haba ns a token of welcome. Cheers for Captain Slater were heartily responded to, and another splendid haka was given. The general arrangements for the sports were in the hands of Mtr M. E. M'lnnes, under whose capable direction everything passed off without the slightest hitch or delay. The school championship for the year was won by "R. C. M'Glaehan, and tne junior championship by J".
