QUEENSTOWN REGATTA.
The event was carried through on Good Friday, when the competitions were interesting. The water was too disturbed for rowing in Queenstown Bay, and Frankton Arm was selected. Following- are the results: — MAIDEN DOUBLE SCULLS.—Ofcago 1, Queen's Drive 5L Railway I. The only starters. Won by a canvas after a hard race from half-way, YOUTHS' FOURS.—Riverton 1, Bluff 2, Railway 3. Also started: Invercargill. Won by 1 length. JUNIOR SCULLS —Awarua had a walk over. MAIDEN FOURS.—Queen'B Drive 1, Invercargill 2, Awarua 3. Also started:
Railway, Otago, Riverton, and Invercargill. A close finish between the first four boats.
SENIOR SCULLS—Otago 1, Bluff 2. The only starters. Otago asserted their superiority early and won comfortably. JUNIOR FOURS.—Riverton 1 Queen's Drive 2. Won by half a length after a hard fought race. MAIDEN PAlßS.—Otago 1, Bluff 2, Riverton 3. The contest was merely between Otago and Bluff. Otago won. by a length. WAKATIPU FOURS SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP.—BIuff 1. Otago 2. The only starters. Won by five lengths. JUNIOR PAlßS.—Riverton 1, Bluff 2. The only starters. It was a close go throughout. SENIOR PAlßS.—Bluff 1, Otago 2. The only starters. Won easily.
