April 14.—A cricket match was played on the local srround on Saturday between the Kaitang&ta and BaWutha Clubs, the former being victorious, a result with which their capital fielding had much to do. Balclutha blade 40, and Kaitangata secured the necessary runs to win with the loss of eight wicketa. Bowling.—The Balclutha Bowling Green was closed on Saturday afternon with a match between Kaitangata and the local club. Tho weather was somewhat cold and threatening, but later in the afternoon the conditions improved considerably. The green was in good condition, and play generally was of an expiting nature. For a time the play was very close, and it looked as if the visitors were going to win, but the local club rose to the occasion, and the game resulted in a win for Balclutha by one point. During the afternoon tea was served by a number of lady workers.
