The course was in excellent condition, and, although there were many spills, the jumping was very good. The attendance, although fair, did' not come up..to expectations. Morning finished alone, the second and thiid horses running off, and having to go back and take their jump. In the Final Handicap a protest entered by the stewards against Ardent and Mount Victoria for bumping was not uphold. OAMARU TROTTING CLUB. Tho annual meeting of the Oamaru Trotting Club was bold yesterday afternoon. The report showed; that the club had bad a good year, the single day’s racing- producing- a profit of £6OO. The financial position was pronounced strong-, the club having a cash balance of £537, notwithstanding a heavy outlay upon improvements. Mr P. O. Hjorring was re-elected president, and Mr T. A. Munro vice-president. The committee was practically re-elected. RACING CONFERENCE, MR HUGO FRIEDLANDER’S SEAT. A meeting of the committee of the Akaroa County Racing Club was held on Saturday, principally to consider a letter from the Ashburton Racing Club, strongly recommending that Mr Hugo Friedlander should be requested to resign his seat as representative of country racing clubs on the New Zealand Racing Conference because of his German origin. After a good deal of discussion, tho following resolution vyas carried unanimously : '—'“That this club is of th© opinion that it is highly desirable, under the circumstances, that Mr Friedlander should resign his seat as district representative of Country Racing Clubs on tho Racing Conference, and is of opinion he will readily do so if asked by tho clubs lie represents, but failing which this club is of the opinion that the Racing Conference, on which ho has a seat, should take further action in tho matter.” D.J.C. Humphries applied to have his sentence of disqualification altered to suspension, and it was decided to recommend that this be agreed to. A fair number of members of tho Otago Hunt took part in a meet at Waverloy on Saturday afternoon. Tho run was hold over the old course, and although somewhat short, was greatly enjoyed.
