COST OF LIVING
WASHINGTON, November 23. Official figures show that the retail prices of 12 out of 15 principal articles of food in America have increased 66 per cent, during the past 14 years. This is partly due to natural causes and partly to artificial stimulation. In order to meet the latter, housewives are advocating the establishment of public markets and cooperative stores. The cost of living in America is one-third higher than it is in Great Britain.
