GREAT RANCHING SCHEME
LONDON, October 20.
The Evening News states that the British South Africa Chartered Company has evolved a great ranching scheme for utilising the unalienated land in Rhodesia. It includes the construction of branch lines to tap the Cape to Cairo railway, and will enable meat to be landed in Europe seven 'days quicker than from Argentina. Mr Walsh, a skilled Texan cattle rancher, has been engaged as manager. The Chairman (Sir L. S. Jameson) will jdso give concessions to large American firms. It is believed that Messrs Armour, Of Chicago, are included in the scheme.
