MILITARY DESPATCH RIDE

AN INTERESTING CONTEST. SYDNEY. April 8. The military despatch contest from Adelaide to Sydney between cyclists, motor cyclists, and motor cars has concluded. The cyclists received 24 hours' start from the motor cyclists and 30 hours from the care. The cyclists arrived early this morning in 70A hours. The cars are expected four hours later and the motor cyclists a- couple of hours after the cars. Th© cyclists averaged a speed of 16J miles per hour. The motor cyclists finished second in the despatch ride owing to the driver of one of the care missing the road. The cyclists' correct time was 69 hours 32 minutes. The motor cyclists took 51 hours 50 minutes, and the motor cars 47 hours 46 minutes.
