BRITAIN AND AMERICA
LONDON, March 15. All parties and ail sections of the press cordially welcome Sir E. Grey's response to President Taft's siiggestion to negotiate an arbitration treaty covering all possible grounds of quarrel. The Rev. Dr Jowett, speaking at Birmingham, said he hoped his going to America would prove what he had thought the King, when he recently saw him, wished—that he might be like two peoples, helping to bind them more firmly together. Sir E. Grey's work regarding a treaty waa pregnant with tremendous issues. On behalf of England's Protestants, he could express to their cousins across the sea the deep desire for such a treaty.
