YOUNG EGYPTIANS
GENEVA, September 15.
The Young Egyptian Congress demanded the immediate British evacuation of Egypt, and urged the Khedive to reestablish the Constitution.
Mahomed Fahmy, who presided, appealed to Europe for support. Mr Keir Hardie urged the Egyptians to unite to educate their own people in order to win their independence. Mr Keir Hardie, continuing his remarks, said they must discountenance all tendency to crime and outrage, and must follow constitutional lines. He advocated autonomy for Egypt, and said it was outrageous to assert that the Egyptians were unable to perform voters' duties like the Turks. Sir E. Grey's statement that British occupation was permanent sullied Britain's honour in the eyes of the world.
