A HORSE INJURED.

AUCKLAND, May 24-.

While schooling at Elierslie this morning the Great Northern Steeplechase candidate Leo failed to rise at the water jump leading into the straight, ailct turned right over. The rider (Phillips) escaped injury, but the horse was unable to rise. It is feared his back is broken. Leo was withdrawn from all engagements at the winter meeting at 2.55 p.m.
