(FaoM Our Own Correspondent.) j INVERCARGILL, May 27. | One of the most important sales of I thoroughbred horses that bar • taken place in Southland was held at Gw Krasi ' - clay, when the late Mr James Miiie-r . .-ok came under the hammer. There was an. exceedingly good attendance of sports, representing the Western District, as well as a few outside buyers. The horses, without exception, were brought out in firs't- . class condition, and reflected great credit on their mentor, Mr James Lawson. There was considerable speculation among those present as to what the yearling- colt Daringdale would bring, and when he was led? out competition was exceedingly keen. The j bidding started at 150 gs, and went quickly I up to 305 gs, at which figure he was knocked down amidst applause to Mr W. T.
