SYDNEY, May 26. Owing to the King's Birthday being a statutory holiday, difficulty is likely to arise over the King's desire for its nonobservance during the curremt year. MELBOURNE, May 26.

Unless the King's eldest son is proclaimed Prince of Wales before his birthday the day will not here be declared a public holiday.

OTTAWA, May 25. Flags will be hoisted on all the public buildings in Ottawa to-morrow in honour of Queen Mary's birthday. LONDON, May 26.

The M r arships will fire salutes to-day and on the 3rd June, but they will not be dressed and no other form of celebration of their Majesties' birthdays will be used in 1910.

It is notified in Thursday's Gazette (says a " Wellington ' message) that the Government offices will not be closed on the King's birthday, June 3.
