TROUBLESOME NATIVES.
SYDNEY, October 13. Advices from the Caroline Islands state that the native police who were despatched to Ponape returned after a fight "with the native?. A raumber of the latter were shot. The latest reports of the fighting are confirmed by rival native tribes. The German East India Bquadron has arriv-ed at the islands, and psaoe is now assured. It is reported that the natives at the Rock Islands (belonging to tb.2 New Pommeru igroup), for eomo unexplained reason, massacred 30 of their women folk. A piznitive expedition -s to be sent.
