WELLINGTON, December 15. There was excellent weather yesterday fcfternoon. for the cricket matches. In the Senior matches, Gas Company, meeting Old Boys, were disposed of for 168, Of 'his Dredge contributed 50, Gourlay 26, •A'K&y 23, Burke 19, and Waugh 19. Old 1 3oys made 93 for three wickets, the score ncludfng a useful 46 not out by Tucker. Ididland batted first against Phoenix, and made 131 (Bruce not out 54, Quee 18). Phoenix have eight wickets down for 76, of ■which Gibbea made 27. Newtown's first inning* against Petone yielded 108, Tilyard Contributing SB. Cobcroft was destructive 'frith Jhe ball, capturing eight wickets for 53. Petone'e score stands at 219 for eight pickets (Isherwood 51, Barber 34, Cobcroft 23; extras 55).
