NATIVES IN REVOLT
OUTBREAK IN ORANGE RIVER, COLONY. DURBAN, December 10. .Five hundred natives employed at the Vorspoed mine (Orange, River Colony) revolted, and destroyed much - property. They then started for Kronatadt, where the police have been reinforced. The riot has no connection with the Zulu trouble. v / December ll\ The police overtook a number of rioters at Vorspoed, and escorted them to Kronstadt, where the ringleaders were fined £50 or six months' imprisonment, and 200 others 40s each or a fortnight's imprisonment. x The trouble originated over the arrest of a native. .
