WELLINGTON, December 9. The new legislation affecting faotelkeeper* contained in the Shops and. Officet Amendment Act of last session m being brought into operation. The Labour Department is issuing- circulars to all the botelkeepers drawing their attention to the fact that each of their employees must now receive a halfholiday on one day of the_ week. Another section provides that shopkeepers who sell tobacco and cigarettes must observe the same closing hours _as ordinary tobacconista, and they are being furnehed with a printed notice to that effect, to be hung up in the shops for general information.
