West Harbour, wrote enclosing a. letter from the secretaiy of the Sawyers' Ba-y School Committee calling the attention of that body to the condition of an opeii drain at the •entranf* to the s-ehoo! p!aygrpi;<nd. As the nuisance was ca.used by the drainage frozu houses in the county it was to be hoped that body would abate it.— lnspector to report. ,
Mrs Annie Campbell, Mansfordtown, wrote stating that the water overflowed in the gutter in William street opposite her property. — In spector to attenu to the matter.
The Treasury Department wrote remitting £100 to til© credit of -the council for work done, Wnitati to Creamery road, and £50, balance of payment, for Seacliff Asylum /oad — Received.
The C'evk Waihemo County Council, wiote st&ting that the necessary permission had been grafted to expend moneys within Waihemo County on the Pound road. Macraes. — Tenders to be called, for the v ork.
Thos. Blackley, "Warrington, wrote stating thnt the road past his property was impa&s-aKe.-To b& attended to.
The Actirg Town Clerk. Dunedin City Corporation, wrote "U reply to the council's letter elating that they proposed taking legal prccfedings for ths recovery of certain rates. The Fin a-i co Committee had directed that r»a>mont of the amount be declined. — The Cierk said that the rates had always been paid in the past. — After discussion it was fbcided to get a legal opinion frorr Messrs lipcyon <-.yd Hoiking o:i the matter.
\Yrn. Hay. Cedar Bush, wrote complaining of the state of the District Toad leading ficin Port Chalmers Main rc<ul at Mrs White's to his plnce, which was much cut up. — Left m the hands of the inspector to attend to.
The Secretary Charitable Aid and Hospital Boards. Uunedin, wrote asking to be supplied with the valuation oi tha county for the year ending March 31. 1907. Until the levy was made, the county would require to contribute their monthly payments as fo'lows: — Charitab'e Aid Board. £15 14s 8d ; Hospital Board, £11 18s 6d.— To be attended to
The District Manager Ocean Accident prd Guarantee Corporation wrote re the case of a surfaceman at work on a county road, presuming that there was no claim in connection with the matter. — Left in the hands of the clerk to attend to.
Adams Bros., solicitors, wrote stating that they held an order from Mr H. "W. Brook for payment of £14 13s cut of moneys to hecome payable to him for the road metalling contract on Pryde's road. — Received.

The Chantab'.e Aid Board, Dunedin. forwarded a return of outdoor relief cases in the county on the books of the Otago Benevolent Institution for April. — Received.
The Clerk Vincent County Council wrote forwarding' a resolutior to be forwarded to the Minister of Mines, that lignite be inserted in " Th«» Timber and Plax Royalties Act, 1905," in ndchtion to timber and flnx. and requesting the co-operation of the council — Received.
