usual Owaka saie day. Our entry on Monday was made up of 75 head bullocks, heifers, cows, tmd calves. The attendance was fairly good, buyers being present from tho Taieri Plains and Strath-Taien, as well as the usual gathering from Balclutha, Stirling, and the surrounding district. Steers realised £4 to £5 7s Gd ; heifers, £3 Gs to £4 7s 6d; cows, £3 to £5, yearlings, £1 to £1 15s; calves, 15s to £1 ss; pigs suokers, up to Bs.
Grain. — Wheat: Numerous consignments of prime milling are now coming to hand, but as millers are well stocked at present they will buy only at a reduction on late rates, which reduction sellcis are not prepared to allow; hence there are not many sales effected. Quotations • Prime milling, 3s 3d to 3s 4d ; medium do, 3s Id to 3s ad (nominal; no sales), whole fowl wheat, 2s 9d to 2s lid; broken fowl wheat, 2s Sd to '2s lOd (sacks extia''. Oats : The market is slightly easier owing to larger supplies coming forward. Quotations. Prime milling, Is 8d to Is S^d, good to best feed, Is 7d to Is 7^d; inferior and medium feed, Is 3d to Is 6d (sacks extra).
Potatops. — Recent consignments are in bet ter condition, and are commanding slightly increased prices. Quotations : Best white, £5 10s to £6; medium, £4 15s to £5; prime Derwents, £5 to £5 ss ; inferior, £2 10s to jt'4 (sacks in).
Chaff. — Owing to shortage of supplies there is an increased demand for good quality. Medium and inferior lots are still pretty slow of sale. Quotations: Prime old, £3 10s to £3 12s 6d ; prime new, £3 5s to £3 10s ; inferior and medium, £2 7s 6d to £2 15s (sacks extra).
Pressed Straw. — The market is overstocked, and there is little or no demand. Quotations: Wheaten, 25s to 27s 6d ; oaten, 35s to 37s 6d.
Rabbitskins. — No sales since last report
Sheepskins. — Fair catalogues were offered at last Tuesday's sale, and there was the usual attendance of buyers. Competition was very keen, and prices received compare favotirably with late ruling rates. Quotations : Best merino, 6|d to 7id ; medium, 5d to Gd ; best halfbred, 7d to 8d ; medium, 5d to 6d ; best crossbred, G.'.d to 7Jd ; medium to good, 41d to s|d per Ibfbest pelts, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; best lambs, 3s 3d to 3s 7d ; small, Is 6d to 2s 8d each.
Hides. — Fairly large catalogues were submitted at last Thursday's auctions. There was a good attendance of buyers, and the demand throughout was good. Quotations : Extra stout ox, 5M to 6£d ; heavy, od to sid; medium, 4Jd to sd; light, 4£d to 4|d; extra stout,, heavy cows, 4Jd to 4|d ; medium, 4Jd to 4ld ; light, 4Jd to 4|d ; stags and bulls, 2d to 3£d;' yearlings, 3£d to 4Jd per lb ; calfskins, Is 6d to 3s 6d each. Tallow and Fat. — A good demand still exists for all consignments. Quotations : Best rendered tallow, 18s to 20s; medium to good, 15s to 17s; inferior, 12s to 14s; rough fat, 12s to "4s 6d per cwt.

DUNEDIN WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.
Messrs A. Moritzson and Co., auctioneers, wool, stock, station, grain, produce, and commission agents, report (wholesale) for the -week as under. All quotations are subject to market fluctuations. We would ask farmers when sending samples to put a price on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offers : — Wheat. — There is a fair quantity of new heat offering. Demand, however, is not strong. We quote : Velvet and Tuscan, 3s 5<S to 3s 6d : red sorts, 3s 3d to 3s 4d; good whole fowl wheat, 3s to 3s Id. Oats. — Fair demand for good quality, but not many offering. Milling, Is 9d; B grade, Is Bd. Ryecorn, 3s to 3s 2d. Barley. — Prime malting, fair demand at 3s 3d to 3s 6d. Chaff. — Market in over-supply. Prime oaten sheaf chaff, £3 7s 6d to £3 12s 6d; medium, hard to quit at £3 to £3 5s per ton (sacks extra). Ryegrass. — Fair demand. We have sold at: Farmers' dressed, light seed, Is 5d to 2s 3d ; heavy-weights, 2s 9d to 3s 3d ; machine dressscl, 3s 6d to ss; light seed, Is 9d to 2s 3d; heary seed, 2s 3d to 3s. Cocksfoot. — Farmers' dressed, 3d to 3id ; machined, 5d to 6d. I/inseed. — Scarce; nominal value, JS10; wanted.
Chewinga's Fescue. — No demand at present owing to large stocks of last season's. New season's sample -wanted. Potatoes. — Market fairly well supplied, white •sorts selling at £5 to £6; Derwents, good ripe samples, keenly sought after at £5 ss; diseased and unripe sorts hard to quit fiorn £2 10s to £4 10s, according to quality and condition.
Rabbitskins. — Suckers and runners, 4id to 6Jd; outgoing 12Jd to 13Jd; late autumns, lli<J to 12d ; autumn blacks. HSd to Is ; early autumns, lOJd to lid; winters, 15d to 17d ; winter blacks, up to 22d. Sheepskins. — We hold sales every Tuesday. Country sales conducted on most leasonable terms. Grass Seed Cleaning. — Onr machinery is up to date. We have just added a clover polisher, and as we have a machine of the latest type for each kind of seed, we give from 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, better cleaning results than a machine which cleans all seeds. We also store seed free of charge until cleaned, and keep same insured. Storing Grain. — We are prepared to store, receive, and deliver, insure, with three months' free storage, at 3d per sack. Our stores arc vermin proof and connected with siding.
