The twenty-fourth annual gathering' of the Waikouaiti Caledonian Society was held on Boxing Day on the new Recreation Grounds in beautiful weather, for the first time for many years, the result being a record attendance, good entries, and close finishes. T3ie 21 events on the programme were got off -without a protest or hitch' of any kind. Special mention should be made of the work done by the president (Mr Matkeson), starter (Mr P. E. Wilson), Messrs Fell, Park, Morrison, Diack, Stuart, C. Hoad, Heckler, and the secretary (Mr Jamieson). The bagpipe music supplied by several pipers added greatly to the afternoon's enjoyment.
