SHAG POINT.
The breakup ceremony of the Shag Point School was held on Thursday evening, in the local hall, Mr A. Goodley (chairman of committee) presiding. The' first part of the proceedings was a "concert, every item being supplied by the school children. Before calling on Mr T. Mackenzie, M.H.R., to present the prizes, the Chairman complimented the parents and the pupils on the splendid attendance record secured by the school — viz., 95 per cent, for five years, 'xhe committee desired to thank the donors of speoial prizes. An apology for non-attend-ance was received from Mr J. Allen, M.H.R. The following is the prize list: —
Sewing. — Standard VI: Margaret J. Westfield (medal presented by School Committee); Standard V: Mary Ferguson, Edith M'lntosh x (Miss Clarke's prizes) ; Standard IV : Margaret Douglas: Standard III: Violet Brooke; Standard II: Margaret M'Cready; Standaid I : Meda Morrell.
Drawing. — Mary Foster, Meda Morrell, Anast-asia M'Cready.
Eecitation. — Edward Rixon (Mrs M'lntosh's prize).
Drill. — Adam T^'-d- '-■ '»tlal presented by Mr J. Allen, MJE.Pi.), James Everest 2.
Good Conduct. — Prises presented by Mrs Shore): Edith M'lntosh, Kathleen Everest, James Guthrie, William ll'Callion.
Diligence in School. — G-eorge M'lntosh. Class Prizes (presented by Mr T. Mackenzie, M.H.R.). — Standard V: Ben Jackson; Standard IV: David Dunsmuir; Standard III: Violet Brooke.
Duxes "of the School (Head Master's medals). — Margaret J. "Westfield and Ernest H. Bhmdell equal.
In addition to the a.bove, 23 first-class and 17 > second-class attendance certificates were presented.
