(Fsoh Ovs. Own Corespondent.) November 10. Despite the very unpromising weather of this morning, the attendance at the Winton Jockey Club's meeting was very good indeed. The fields -were not qxirte so large as usual, but the racing was of a most interesting character, several of the finishes being very close. The tctalisator was in charge of Messrs Jam -s Bros., who attended to their 3uties with a ceierity which was the subject of much favourable comment. The total investment amounted to £2298. Gaines's br b Briny Breeze, aged, 7.11 (M'Kay) 3 Silverniaid led to the rive-furlong post, where she was joined by Belligerent and Briny Breeze, and in a neok-and-neck struggle up the straight the Lakes mare won by a short neck.
