Seven furlongs.— Merope, 7.9, 1; Betsy, 7.9, 2; Capnlet, 8.0, 3. Also started: Knight Errant, Jolly Roger, Wakanae, Maminga. Tim-, lmin 33 2-ssec. Dividends, £2 9s and 12s. Masterton Cup, of 115sovs. One mile and a-quarter.— Cure, 7.5, 1; Oracle. 7.12, 2; Platypus, 7.5, 3. Also started: Plaidie, Shrapnel Shell, Marianthus, Whario, Mourner. Time, 2min 13sec. Dividends, £5 2s and £2 6s. Flying Hack Handicap. Three-quarters of a mile.— Opaeae, 6.7, 1; Raema, 7.2, 2; Kowhate, 3. Also started : Spun Gold, Engarde, Tutungarehu, Woodleigh, Iniwa, Persimmon. Time, lmin 18 3-osec. Dividends, £5 2s and £3 11s. Ladies' Braceleu Handicap. One mile and a-quarter.— Hinekura, 10.7, 1; Waitoa, 11.13, 2. Also started: Mataurau, Royal Born, Cavalier. Time, 2min 20sec. Dividend, £5 ss. Cavalier finished second, but the owner of Waitoa lodged a protest against Cavalier foT jostling. After hearing the evidence the stewards disqualified Cavalier and the rider for the rest of the meeting and awarded Waitoa second place. October Hack Handicap. One mile.—Tutungarehu, 7.0, 1; Wehengw, 7.7, 2; Benefactor, 8.7, 3. Also started: Frost, Valkyrie, Puritana, Seaweed. No time was taken. Dividends, £7 16s and 17s. Publicans' Handicap.
