THE ELDORADO GOLD DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).
The first annual general meeting of share- j holders in the above company was held at the j registered office of the company on Tuesday ! afternoon, Mr Thomas Stevenson (director) presiding, in the unavoidable absence of Mr Aithur I yr, Poole, chairman of director?. | The balance sheet and directors' report were ] unanimously adopted, one shareholder present «>cmplimenting the boaid on the state of the finances of the company and the healthy appearance of the balance sheet. The Chairman reported that the machinery made by the Austral Otis Company, Melbourne, was completed, and that the engine and boiler .(Ruston and Proctor) was landed here, and would be shortly forwarded to the claim, as jwell as the pump and other parts. In answer to inquiries the Chsirman stated 'that it gave him pleasure in assuiing the shareholders that instead of having to issue preference shares or otherwise increase the capitpl it was an assured fact that the company would be able to start operations about the end of the year with a credit balance, which remark was aeceived with applause. Mr James Coombs (director), having resigned, "the Chairman stated that it had occurred to the fooard that it was necessary to appoint a local director to look after the comoany's interests ,Jand property at Weatport, and Mr Graham H. iiTackson, dentist, of that city, having been pro- - posed, was unanimously elected. Mr Hunter M'Kechnie, of Dunechn, was reappomie-d a director, and Mr T. S. Giaham, the retiring auditor, was also re-elected. A hearty vote of thanks to +he chair brought -ft satisfactory meeting to a clo&e.
