ARA GOLD SLUICING COMPANY.
Aii extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the Ara Gold Sluicing Company •was held in the registered office of the company, 17 High street, on Friday afternoon. Mr Fred A. Cutten (chairman of directors) occupied the chair, and there were seven shareholders preEent. The Secretary (Mr W. Hoisted) read the fo llowing notice, which had been sent out io ishareholders : — "Owing to the unsatisfactory results obtained from sluicing operations on (the company's claim since tke date of starting, 22nd February, 1901 — viz., 21oz of gold — your directors decided to stop further operations on the 14th May laat, and prospect other portions of the claim by the sinking of a shaft. The result of this prospecting proving very disappointing, the directors have decided that an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders foe held in the registered office of the company, 17 High street, Dtanedin. on Friday, 21st June, at 4 -D.m., when the following resolutions will "he submitted : — ' (1) That the company cannot, hy reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up same. (2) That Mr W. Hoisted be appointed liquidator.' " The Chairman stated the position of the company, as shortly set out in the notice to shareholders, and moved — " That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and thai; it is advisable to wind up same, and that it be wound up accordingly. ' Mr H. O. Haggitt seconded the motion, which ■Was carried. On the motion of Mr H. O. Ha^?itt, seconded "by Mr W. H. Fulton, it was deei'.-d to apppint Mr W. Hoisted liquidator, at a remuneration of £15.
