HARRIER NOTES. By The Hare.
The St. Andrew's Harriers are increasing in membership and popularity, the roll showing over 20 working- members, with a good average attendance. Last Wednesday's ran at Kaikorai Valley was most successful, and several of the runners— notably Wilson, Asher, M'Hulchison, and Bro\\n — showed marked improvement Owing to the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, there will be no mn this week, but on next Wednesday, the 3rd of July, the first club handicap will take place at St. Clair. In this Christie, Wilson, and Asher should give a good account of themselves. The Dunedin Harriers' lfin on Satin day \va3 held at Halfway Bush, and over 30 members put in an appearance. Messrs Stewart and Burnard carried the "bags," and they laid a good trail around the base of Flagstaff and on through Wakari. The home turn was made via the reservoir and golf links. The pack were in good form, and dining the kour and three-quarters they were away some good running was indulged in. In the home sprint, after a good tussle, Haynes, Murray, and Harris finished in the order named. Mr Bunting wa3 most attentive to his guests, and three hearty cheers were given in his honour before the harrier* left for home. Next Saturday a handicap will be held at the Caveraham Industrial School, and a good xace is anticipated.
