SYDNEY, April 14. In the swimming mils amateur champion* ship of New South Wales G. Read beat Dick Cavill by three-quarters of a lap in 24min 46 4 sbcc — a world's record. Cavill took 25min 12 4 ssec, beating his own previous Australasian record of 26min 52 l-ssec.
