GOLF.
The fourth round of the Otago Championship was played on the links, Balmacewan, on Saturday, resulting as follows — S. Todd beat C. Turnbull, 5 and 4, G. Winslow boat V. J. Stilling, 7 and 6, J. R Scott beat G. H. MacEwan, 5 and 4, A. Todd beat A. H. Fisher, 3 and 2. S Todd now play 3G. Wmslow, and J. R Scott plays A. Todd in the semi-final. Wmslow played in splendid form, his score for the round (40 out and 41 in, total 81) being the record for the green. The second round of the First Consolation was also played, with the following result — J. M. E. G arrow beat W. M'Lcau, 5 and 4; A. M. Hogg beat F. D. Stewait, 6 and 5; d» Holdsworth beat C. S. Reid, 4 and 3, A. Tapper beat T. Gilray, jun., 4 and 2. D; Brown and A. Holmes have still to play. In the third round J. M. E. G arrow plays A. M. Hog-g. The winner plays C. Holdsworth, and A. Tapper plays the winner of Dr Brown v. A. Holmes The following is the result of the diaw for the Second Consolation.— J. Macpher c on ploys W. C. MacGregor, H. D. Stronach plays Dr Buit, J H. Hosking plays E. S. Patersoii, E. Melland plr.ys H. Price, G. M. MpcLean plays S. K. Sleigh, J. L. Salmond plays Dr Ogsto;:, P. Y. Wales plays F. Leitch; J. C Thomson plays J. A. Ccok. The .natch has been partly nlayed, the following being the results arrived at — E. Melland. beat H. Prire at 2'!tli hole; F. Leitch beat P. Y. Wales, 7 and 6, S. K. Sleigh beat G. M. Mac Lear, 6 and 4. The others have yet to play off.
