GREEN ISLAND.
April 4. — The monthly meeting of the local School Committee pn Tuesday evening was Attended by Dr Will (chairman), and Messrs TBenfel, Berry, Campbell, Russel, G. HarraTvay, and A. Kane. The Head Master rejported the average attendance for the quarte «as being: Boys 145, girls 148, making a tot-.l cf 253 ; while the average roll for the same (time was 318. thus making the attendance £2 per cent, of the whole. The recent eoorl wea-ther had no doubt been conducive to Jthat end. while another factor seemed to be jthe determination among the children in •the several standards to gain the attendance Jbanner. The committee are at one with the nnaster in the belief that if the parents werv to see that their children were at school snore regularly (especially on wet days) the average attendance would be greatly increased.
