LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the Land Board, held at the Land Office on Wednesday, was attended l>y the Chief Commissioner (Mr D. Barrorr) and Messrs Clark, Dal'u*., Duncan, and Kirkpatxick. M. A. Norman applied fcr a right to occupy section 2, block XIII, Lower Wanaka district. — Declined ; rangei to value section.

Ranger Atkinson reported on the application ■by Donald Chalmers for a license to occupy two and a-half acre? in Diggers' Gully, block 2£, Kurow district - Application declined.

The application by J. H. Waigth for a license to occupy sections 19, 25, and 26, block XVII, Town of Roxburgh, was granted at a. rental of 20s per acre.

Donald M'Lean applied for a right to occupy the reserve along Sowburn Creek, fronting sections 24 and 25, block I, Upper Taieri district. — Declined.

The board authorised the Receiver of Land ■Hevejiue to pay over the amount received a^ valuation for improvements on Run 17a and eection 1, block VTII, Dompt district, to the person entitled to receive the same, on the production of letters of administration.

Anderson Bros, applied for a temporary grazing right over section 21, Vock XIII, and tbo cultivated paddock on section 5, block XIV, Pomahaka Downs estate. — Temporary license granted to 31st May at £10. The board was requested to determine as to liow section 6, block V, Woodland district, open for application but not yet taken up, should be dealt with. — Ranger to vplue land and improvements.

The following applicatiors to -f-ans.'er were approved : —Perpetual lease 893, village pcttleanent, George Page to Mrs Rachael Innes Page, section 11, block VIII, CatlinE district: lease in perpetuity 10725, J. O. Pnngle to Hewson IFinlinson and John Hewson Finlinsoi;, section 22a, Elderslie settlement.
