OAMARU MARKET REPORT,

Messrs A. Moritzson and Co., Tyne street, report for the week ending November 28: — Wheat. — Market remains very quiet at 2s 3d" for Tuscan, 2s 2d to 2s 2}d for velvet and red chaff. Barley. — Nothing doing; prime malting nominally Is lid. Gats. — Have better inquiry; milling worth Is 6|d, Duns Js 6d, Danish Is 5Jd. Potatoes. — Stocks having been worked off, prime fresh picked Derwents are now worth 40s, sacks included, at country sidings. The above quotations are all delivered at store, Oamaru, sacks 6d each, except where otherwise mentioned. ■ SALE OP HIDES, TALLOW, &c. Wright, Stephenson and Co. report as follows: — We held our usual auction sale of hides, tallow, etc., at our High and Maclaggan street stores on Friday, 23rd inst. There was a good attendance of biiyers, and bidding was , spirited throughout. Hides : Our catalogue oft this week was only a medium one, consisting chiefly of town and country butchers' and station hides. Prices throughout the sale were 'good, and show a slight advance on those ruling at last auction. We quote : Prime heavy ox, 4d to 4|d ; medium do, 3Jd to 3gd ; light and inferior, 3d to 3£d per Ib. Cows: Well flayed, 3fd to 3§d; medium, 3Jd to 3gd; inferior, 2|d to 3Jd. per lb: Tallow : Prices remain unchanged. All the consignments coming forwaid are disposed of at the following rates: — Prime rendered, 19s « to 20s; medium, 16s to 17s 6d; inferior", 13s 6d to 15s per cwt.
