KOKONGA.
Septernbei 28. — The weather here of late has been very dry, with the exception of a few spring showers. A good heavy rain is needed for vegetation of all kinds.
Pastoral. — Slock in general are looking exceptionally well on account of the line winter. A few lambs are to be seen frolicking about the grass paddocks, and the general lambing is expected to be good.
Going Backwards. — Mr Gillies, our general storekeeper, leaves here shortly. He is removing his buildings, and intends carrying on lousiness in the same line in Blacks. The store will be greatly missed by all the residents. The post office and telephone are to be removed to the schoolhouse.
Stock Sale. — The Farmers' Agency Company held a sale of Mr Ryan's property, farm, and stock. After spirited competition the land was "knocked down" to Mr K. Williamson lor the sum of £455. Stock of all sorts sold ■well.
Library. — A concert in aid of the Public Library fund will be held in the schoolhouse on Friday, October 5, when a good evening's enjoyment is expected.
