IProm Our Own Correspondent.) ALEXANDRA, August 28. l'he Molyneux is at much the same level as yesterday. Fair progress is being made with tlie erection of the machinery on the Golden Link dredge. The contractor is pushing on the erection of machinery on the Sailor's Bend dredge. Augiist 29. The Molyneux is no lower. Two loads of machinery for the Golden Link dredge arrived yesterday, also the timber for the" First Chance pontoons, and more machinery for the Golden Falls and Sailor's Bend dredges. Tlie First Chance pontoons will probably be in the water before the end of the week. August 30. The Molyneux doe'! not show much indication of falling. Another meeting of 'ocal shareholders in the "West Matnu Company 'S called for Satuiday ■ night, and another meeting of the Last Chance Company's shareholders fakes place this^ evening. The Unity dredge will put on a new screen shortly. Some of the machinery to hand ha? been put on the Golden Falls diedgc. A fair poitiaa of tire machinery has been put on the Sailors' Bend diedgo.
Messrs J. A. Chapman and R. G. Whettei (Dunedin) have been circled directors of the .Bald Hill Company in place of Messrs G-union and Closs, retiring directors. Messrs George Spencer and Latirence Ryan have been, appointed liquidators of the Nil Desperandum Company at a fee oi 20 guineas. August 31. The Molyneux is slightly under 2£ft above normal. The last load of pipes for the Earnscleugh No. 3 Company's pipe line to the electric power house was .delivered to-day. The Eureka dredge has shifted nearer to the west bank. More timber for the Alexandra Lead pontoons arrived yesterday. The framework is well advanced. - At a meeting of shareholders last evening in the Last Chance Company" it was resolved to request the directors to stay proceeding fuither with the const ruction oi the diedge, and dispose of the contracts let at a premium, if possible, until further prospecting operations are carried out. September 1. The Molyneux River is keeping at pretty much the same level. The First Chance Company's pontoons were successfully launched this morning. , ■ September 3. The Molyneux is slightly under 2\it above noimal. Two loads of machinery, including winches, arrived to-day for the Sailors' Bead dredge. The ladder and some buckets were doliveied to-day for the Golden Link dredge. More timber came to hand to-day fo v the Alexandra Lead, First Chance, and -> Fiase: Flat pontoons. The returns for the last week, as repoi'ied on Saturday, give an avei^ge of 630z tor id dredges. Four dredges obtained o x , er lOOos, &o that Alexandra is still well to the front. At a meeting of shareholders in the West Matau Company on Saturday evening to consider the reports on the claim it was resolved, after a ' lengthy discussion, to request the directors to call an extraordinary geneial meeting of shareholders to wind up the company.
