Messrs Maclean and Co. report : We sold on .Saturday morning at auction, at stores, Crawford street, a large catalogue of tallow, fat, and hides. Buyers were we}l represented, and every lot was quickly disposed of at satisfactory price- — viz. : Hides, 3|d to 4-^d ; tallow in cases, 19s to 21s ; in tins, 13s 6d to 21s.
Messrs Thos. Borthwick and Sons, of the London Central Meat Market, vvrith agencies at Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow, have opened offices at Christchurch.
