GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORTS
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report that prices ruled as under at their auction sale on Monday : — Oats. — The quantity on offer was more than sufficient for trade requirements, and in tho absence of demand for many of the lots on offer they wore passed in. Good to best feed sold at Is 3d. to Is 3id; milling. Is 4£d ; inferior feed, at Is 2d to Is 2£d per bus..-, (sacks extra). * ' Wheat. — Wo"offered a few lots of good fowl wheat, which sold at Is lid to 2s Id per bushel (sackß in)-' Potatoes. — The market wan well supplied, and on. account of the quantity offering bidding was not so keen. Best Derwents sold at £1 17s 6d.-to_£2; extra prime to £2 2s 6d per ton (sacks in). Chaff. — The demand for prime oaten sheaf is good, late quotations for this class being well maintained. Medium and inferior sorts are not in request, and iii consequence, are , not' so readily quitted. We quote: Best oaten sheaf, £2 10s to £2 15s; medium to good, £2 to £2 7s 6d per ton (bags extra).
Messrs Dalgety and Co. report having held their weekly auction sale, when the attendance was good: — Oats. — Supplies are coming in freely, and prices are somewhat easier. We quote milling up to Is 4^tl ; good to best feed, Is 3d to Is 3£d ; medium, Is 2£d ; inferior, Is to la Id. Wheat. — 'Prime milling is in fair demand, but buyers will not take anything but' really , good quality. Prime velvet. 2s 4d to 2s 6d :• Tuscan and red sorts, 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; fowl feed, Is lid to 2s.
Potatoes. — The market is fully supplied, and price 3 this week are a shade easior. Prime Werwenls, 37s 6d to 42s 6d. Chaff. — The inquiry for prime continues fairly strong, but other tforts are hard to place. Prime. £2 12s 6d to £2 15s; good, £2 7s Gd to £2 10=; fair to medium, £2 to £2 ss.
Mesprs Moritzson and Hopkin report having held their ui=ual weekly f-ale of grain and produce on Monday morning. There was a good attendance of buyers present, and competition was active : — •
Oat". —Prime samples were in brisk demand, and sold from Is 3£d to Is 4d ; medium and inferior, from Is Id to 1b 3d per bushel. Wheat. — Only fowl feed offered, which brought from ls-lld to 2s per bushel. Potatoes. — Supplied during the week have been heavy, and orices are easier. Wo quote beet from £2 to £2 5s per ton. Chaff. — Prime oaten is in sbort supply, and sells readily from £2 15s to £2 17s 6.1 per ton ; medium and inferior, from £2 to £2 10a.
