Fat Sheep. — There was a moderate supply to-day, consisting of 1729 all crossbreds, several pens of very good wethers, and a few pens very heavy prim* ewes. Prices for ''prime pens differed very slightly from last week, but as usual old and inferior ewes fluctuated a good deal. A few pens of good wethers were taken by export buyers, which helped to steady prices. Best wpthers brought 13s to 14s, fair wethers lls to 12s Gd, best ewes 12s to 13s, a few pens extra heavy to 14s Gd, aged and inferior Gs to 9s 6d. Donald Reid and Co. sold: For Mr John Henderson (Owaka), 9 at 10s 6d. Macloan and Co. sold: For a client, 2at 38s, 2at 49s 6d, 4at 455, 2at 375 ; Mr Jas. Oughton (Mosgiel), 4 suckers at 13s Wright, Stephenson, and Co. sold 59 as follows: — Extra heavy pigs at GOs to 665; bacon, 40? to 555; porkers, 30s to 38s; 'suckers., 9s to 16s. Clearing Sale.— Donald Reid and Co. report having held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr John Wright afhis farm, Mosgiel, on Tuesday, the 18th mst., when they submitted, his stock of dairy cows, farming implements, etc, for unieserved sale. There was a good attendance of farmers and others, and a satisfactory sale. Dairy cows sold at £2 to £3 12s 6d ; *y°iing I cattle up to £3 12s 6d. There wasT a large collection of choice, purebred fowls, which sold at fancy prices 1 . Implements and sundries all being disposed of at fair values.

Sheepskins. — There was a. very good attendance of buyers at the sales this week, when large catalogues were offered. Although the market is up considerably »+ Home, it made Very little -difference to prices yesterday, and buyers were, very alow at bidding. Rabbitskins.— There is keen competition for all cla&sea of rabbitskins, and the market during the last fortnight has risen ljd to 2Jd per lb. Best autumns are "fetching 9d to lid summers 5d to 7d pel lb Hides.— Market is improved. The market looks brighter, and should the market remain firm at Home, prices should go up here.

Grain. — Wheat supplies coming forward are not very large, owing, no doubt, to the late rains which have been prevalent all over Otago. Prime milling velvet is worth 2s 4d to 2s Gd ; medium do, 2s 3d to 2s 4d; prime Tuscan, 2s 3id to 2s 6d ; medium, 2a 2d to 2s 3d ; medium milling, 2s 2d to 2s 3d ; fowl wheat, Is lOd to 2s for whole ; and Is 6d to Is 9d for broken. Oats.— There is a fair quantity coming forward, but a good part is, for storage. Prices are easier, and still there is very little business doing in the way of shipping, as oats can be purchased much cheapei elsewhere. Quotations: Sutherlunds and milling, Is 3 J ,d to Is 4£d; prime feed, Is 3d; medium and inferior, Is lid to Is 2Jd (ex store, sacks extra). Barley. — There is a fair quantity coming forward, but the demand is very limited. Malting is worth "2* -id to 3s 4d : milling, Is lOd to 2s; feed, Is Gd to Is 9d (sacks extra). Chaff. — Prime chaff is scarce; prices still remain good. Prime ia selling at £2 10s to £2 15s; medium. £2 to £2 ss.

Potatoes. — Tho demand for potatoes is very poor. Shipper* can buy much cheaper f.o.b Oamnru than they can here, so the only inquiry is for local cbnsumi^tion. We quote: Oania.ru Derwents, £1 17s 6d to £2 ; extra choice, £2 2s Gcr; southern Derwents, hard to sell "at £1 15s to £2 (bags in ).

street, report for the week ending, April 19, as follows: — Wheat. — Market tinaltered, and we quote as last — viz. : Prime velvet, 2s 6d ; Tuscan, 2s 4d; and fowl feed up to 2s for good whole. Oats are about the same, with a disposition to ease. We quote milling Is 4d ; prime sparrow bills, Is 3Jd; good sound feed, Is 2Jd to Is 3d (ex rail). Barley, as last reported, continues dull. Bright samples command attention at up to 3s* -to 3s 3d; ordinary, 2s 4d to 2s 9d ; and feed, Is 6d to 2s. Potatoes : If prime northern, realise £2 2s 6d; southern, up to £2. Chaff.— We can quote £2 12s 6d for prime and well cut; ordinary, £2~to £2 7s Gd, according to quality.
