There is very little indication of it lifting off for a few weeks to come. We repeat quotations : Prime velvet, 4s 4d ; southern grown, 4s 3d ; Tuscan, 4s Id to 4s 3d ; red sorts, about 4s ; and fowl feed, from 3s to 3s 7d. Oats : The above remarks apply to this grain also, and there is almost nothing of interest to note, Sellers' and buyers' ideas of value differ considerably, the former sitting firm, in their demands, aud the latter, when asked to bid, endeavouring to do so at considerably lower than. quotations, which we give at 2s 4d to 2s 4Ad for Sutherlands ; prime heavy sparrowbills, 2, 3 d ; really good feed, 2s 2d ; ordinary, 2s to 2s Id. Potatoes xneet~with a good demand, especially northern grown, which are readily sileable at up ±0 £3 10s per ton ; and prime southern grown up to £3 ss. Chaff, as reported last week, is easily sold if exceptionally prime, while other qualities are difficult to place at considerably less money.
