the preßent sories of London wool sales reporting a slight improvement in values were on the whole encouraging, but those to hand during the current •week are less reassuring, the American section of the trade having withdrawn from the market. The letter advices to hand by yesterday's Brindisi mail show that prices ruling for Otago-grown wool at the May-Jupe sales were disappointing, so that the reported improvement in values at the sales now - progressing in London were much needed. The range of values at the May-June sales was as follows :— Crqssbreds : Fine to extra, BJd to 9Jd ; fair to medium, 9d to lOd ; coarse bright, 9d to lOd ; wasty, 6Jd to 7Jd.
