(From Our Own Cohrkspondent.) Crom\vi;li,, April 21. A very proniisinß quartz reef has been discovered on the range between the Roaring Meg and the Gentle Annie by a Cromwell party. The specimen shows gold very freely. JM'Lay's dredge is now on payable gold.

1a km,, April 23. The mine manager report.-! from the Lyell Creek Extended Company's mine for the week ai follows :—" The contractors for the main shaft have sunk a- further distance' of 4ft, making the total depth completed 38ft. There are fetill only four men engaged on the contract."
