Notes from Wetherstones.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
April 2ts.— Mining is nearly at a standstill here for w.iut of water. The little vain that has fallen during the past two weeks barely wettad the ground, the frost afterwards drying it up again. The Golden Rise has only been able to work eight houis a day. They have shifted their boxes in consequence of the nozzle getting too far away from the jet. The Blue Spur and other claims have likewise lost time through shortness of water. Mr Robertson is gradually uettiDg the different liaitioflm dredge down to his claim, '•omeof the iron-work aud buckets arc on the ground. A few miners and hatters are working in different places when taey can get a drop of water, trying to make a living.
