Ottawa, June 24. The following members of the Ministry have been elected :— Sir C. Tapper, sen., Sir O. Tupper, jan.,' Messrs Ives, Oaron, and Hoggat. June 24. Tbe Canadian Liberals have obtained a majority of 36 in' the general election. Thero has been a remarkable change in the feeling of the electors in the province of Quebec, owing to discontent with the education policy in Manitoba. , ! Ontabio, June 25. In the province of Quebec, four Ministers were defeated, and this turned the' scale against the Tupper Government. The Roman Catholic bishopß were in favour of the Government, - but their support was useless. The party of the Hon. W. Laurier, the Liberal leader, secured 50 seats/ and thlß result is regarded as a protest against clerical domination. June 26. Mr Laurier is forming a Ministry in Quebec. A measure providing for the revision of the. tariff will be one of. the first brought down. «»
