SEACLIFF,

September- 30.— The weathor which has been exceedingly ft no for some weeks, broke this morning, we experiencing heavy showers of rain and sleet, but this evening we have every prospect of fine weather again. The orchards have the appearance of giving a large quantity of fruit judging by the amount of blossom, and providing we have uo frosts we are not likely to be disappointed. Dairy Factory.— The Omimi Dairy Factory commenced operations last Monday with something like 250 gal of milk. This will soon increase as the f<ed gets more advanced, the pasture being very backward in this locality for the time of year. We soon hone to see the supply of milk amounting tolSOOgal. I believe the output of cheese last season was close on 120 tops. Mr J. O'Conuell, who is appointed to the Wttitati Factory, and Mr William Guild, who has received an appointment at the Pukeuri Junction Factory, both start operations about the middle of noxt month. These young cheeß<sn3akors belong to this neighbour hood, and I trust they will turn out a good and reliable article.

Railway Station.— The app^aranc^ of the railway environment has been gieatly improved by the addition of a small fence along the side of the platform. This is fast becoming one of the prettiest little stations along tho line. Change —Mr Joseph Haig, who has bsen our local bootmaker for the past year or ro, has left for somewhere about tho Hyde district, with tho intention, I think, of trying his hand at tho washdirt

Mr John Hay ia appointed trustee of tho StratQ-Taicri Cemetery, vice Mr R. Noill.
