ST. LEONARDS.
September 29.— At last our roads are Lecoming p»asnbl«. Several men— and excellent workers they appeir— for several days past have been spreading the broken metal. By the way, -tome of the men who were employed at stone-brealcng proved so expert at the work as to earn very high wages, and so rapid were they, indeed, that they lost a good deal of time, since they broke tbo loads of store quicker than they could b? supplied. The Railway Station.— The new station will, it h believed^ soon be comrueocid. Property at Burkestown ia likely to b:om in consequence, and one or two homes are about to be erected.
Land Sales at Buukes.— A lot of land has changed hands lately at Burkes, and the new proprietors have been busy erecting fences around their holding-*. The prices paid were reasonable, and the purchasers in course of time will reap a good return on their outlay.
