A GENEIiAL ADVAKCE. Press Association— By Telegraph— uoi>yi'*;«t LONDON, September 25, The wool *8le» opened to-day. There was a strong demand, and a geueral advance of 15 per cent.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following Oiblvgram irom their Lendon office :—: — "Wool: The sales opened this day at an average advance of 15 per cent, on last sales' closing rates. The principal advance has been crossbred. Competition of both Home and foreign buyers is active, and attendance good. The total quantity available, including wool held over from last eerie«, is 292,000 bales, 67,000 bulea of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct." The National Mortgage and Ajjency Company have received the fallowing cablegram from their London office :— " Wool sales opened at average advance of 15 per ceub. on doting rates of last series."
