Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report having sold privately, on account of Mr W. S. Cox, Moonee, Victoria, to Messrs M'Pheraon and Wilson, of Orepuki, the thoroughbred stallion Earl of Richmond, dark- brown, foaled 1885, sire Richmond, Maubyrnong— The Fawn ; Fisherman (imp.)— Rose de Florence, &c.. Ac Dam Norna (imp ), Adventurer— Astonishment, &0., dec. Mr Cox has used the Earl of Richmond for five years in his stud, and it is only because a change of blood is necessary to put to the Earl's fillies that he has parted with this "beautifully" bred sire. The Earl of Richmond is reported to be a splendid stock getter.
