THE LABOUR MARKET.

Mr Skene reports under date October 9 : — Although everything in the shape of weather is in favour of outdoor work, there are few signs of life in the labour market as jet. A few station hands are moving, and October should keep up its record as a busy month. Farm and dairy work is wakening up a bit. but economy is the rule with all employers. The gods have been frowning on us for a long time now, but it is to be hoped they will soon smile on us asain in the shape of a few good seasons, crops, and priced Town work is harder to get than ever, and we have a full muster of unemployed. Country wages keep fair.
