DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.
Weekly Report. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows :— At our sale on Saturday the entries were made up almoit entirely of light horses. For this class there is a better inquiry every week, and despite the rather indifferent selection from which buyers had to choose, a number changed hands at very good prices. Spring-carters were also in good demand, and sellers may with confidence send to this market just now. Draught horses were not well represented, but there are plenty of buyers for geod and young sorts suitable for town or country work. We quote : First-class draughts (extra heavy), £25 to £30 ; good ordinary draughts (young), £18 to £22 ; medium draughts, £12 to £16 ; aged draughts, £6 to £10 ; good hacks and hare ess horses, £12 to £16 ; medium do, £7 to £9 ; light and inferior do, £2 10s to £5.
