-V The highest inhabited place in the world is the custom house of Ancornarca, in Peru, 16,000 ft above the sea. The highest habitation in the United States is the signal service station on the top of Pike's Peak. The highest fall in Switzerland is the Staubbaoh at Lauterbrunaen. The highest falh in the woria are the Ribbon Falls of the Yosemite— 3oooft. The canyon of the Colorado is 300 miles long, and the cliffs on either side are from 5000 ft to 6000 ft above the water.
