DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE.

DUNEDIN HORSE SALE YARDS. Weekly Report.

Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows :—: —

A fairly large number of horses were offered to-day, including two drafts from the north of upstanding hacks and harness horses. Of this class there were more forward than for some time past, but owing to this being the slackest s»eason in the year for horse* of this stamp the demand was anything but good. Any demand there was. was for inferior sorts, of which a fair number found buyers. Draughts, on the other hand, were in brisk demand, and a good clearance of those offered was, effected, principally for ploughing. Buyers were present from both north and bouth, and prices showing an advance on late s.iles were paid in several instances. We sold a very nice four-year-old hlly for L 23, and a number of other draughts ranging in price from Ll2 to L2O. We quote : — For iirst-class draughts (extra heavy), L 25 to L3O ; good ordinary draughts (young), LlB to L 22; medium diaughts, Ll2 to LIU ; aged draughts, L 6 to L 10;1 0; good hacks and harness horses, Ll2 to LIG ; medium hacks and harness horses, L 7 to L 9; light and inferior hacks and harness horses, L2 los to L 5.
