Mabch 23.— A concert and dance under the auspice* of the Otago Peninsula Eifle Club was held in the Sandy mount Hall on Friday night, the 20th inst. The proceeds were in aid of the Drill. Hall debfci The attendance was not so good as usual, owing to the unfavourable state of the weather. Lieutenant Robertson occupied the chair, and opened the concert with a few remarks on the object of the entertainment. The following ladies and gentlemen contributed to the evening's amusement : — Misses Hall, Henderson, Button, and Crawford (2), Messrs Black, Deaker, Oooke (2), Oroxford, and Oollett. Several of the performers had to respond to encores. After the concert was finished, danoing commenced and was kept up till about 4 o'olook on Saturday morning, Mr Seaton officiating &b M.O.
